WHAT DOES BURGERHOUT MEAN WITH HYBRID?
within the market we keep seeing a steady shift towards hybrid solutions in which multiple forms of heat production are applied simultaneously. The so-called hybrid approach. The terms hybrid or hybridready are used frequently and for various applications, so it is good to know what we mean by hybrid. At Burgerhout we mainly look at the combination of the current conventional heating or ventilation systems, combined with ‘green, energy-saving’ techniques. If we take a broader look at the market, you can think of, for example, the following (hybrid) solutions:
- Existing central heating boiler combined with heat pump
- HRV ventilation system combined with heat pump
- Heat pumps (water, ventilation, tap water)
- Combination gases such as natural gas enriched with hydrogen

EASYSAFE, HYBRIDREADY AND HYDROGENREADY
The energy transition is in full swing and more and more central heating boilers are hybrid or hybrid ready or even suitable for (partial) hydrogen combustion. This means that other requirements are also imposed on the drainage system. Naturally, a drainage system must connect completely and safely to the relevant boiler, regardless of the combustion gases that are used. Then it is good to know that Burgerhout’s EasySafe flue gas discharge system is already suitable for example with hydrogen.
RECYCLE, LEADAX AND CIRCULARITY
We are constantly looking for opportunities to make our products more sustainable and greener. For example, EasySafe and EPS are fully recyclable. Our EPS ducts consist of 98% air, are produced green and have a high recycling rate of 64%. With the introduction of our FX Easy roof terminal tile with Leadax, we have taken the first step towards circularity. Leadax is the first lead substitute in the world with the same properties as traditional lead. Leadax has no harmful effects on health and the environment and is a fully circular product. This makes Leadax unique as a lead replacement and contributes to making the world more sustainable.
